Equipment:

  • NONE

Description:

  • Have one student come up to the front of the class and start to perform a repetitive movement (with or without sound).
  • Once the rest of the class has had a chance to observe the movement, ask for volunteers to see who can add on to the machine with another repetitive movement and sound (i.e. so if the first movement ends with a foot stomping, the second student might come to the front and start their movement by pretending to pick up the “thing” that has just been stomped on by the foot stomping and shake it out…the next volunteer may then take the shaken out “thing” and clap it together, then toss it to the side…etc.).
  • Keep adding students until you have a huge assembly line!
  • One of the best parts is guessing, at the end, what your assembly line is used to make, and how you can prove it!
