Choose 2-5 kids to be it and give them each an evil red ball (these are the
aliens).

Everyone else is an astronaut.

Scatter the beanbags all around the gym, and hold onto the empty bin.

If an astronaut is tagged by an alien, they must got to the black hole (the
circle in the middle of the gym floor – if you don’t have a circle, use cones to
mark off a circle in the middle of the gym).

To save an astronaut from the black hole, another astronaut must slide (NOT
THROW), a beanbag into the black hole and an astronaut must pick it up.

The astronaut must then leave the black hole (holding the beanbag high up
over their head – to show that they have been freed), and must bring the
beanbag back to the teacher (who is holding the beanbag bin and constantly
re-circulating the beanbags around the gym).

Once the astronaut has given his beanbag back to the teacher, he rejoins the
game.

Astronauts can only hold one beanbag at a time.

Aliens CANNOT follow the teacher and just wait to tag a returning astronaut.

Aliens CAN guard, but not go inside, the black hole, and CAN try and block beanbags with their feet, and KICK THEM away, to keep them from the as-
tronauts

BEANBAGS SHOULD ONLY EVER BE SLID ON THE GROUND, NEVER
THROWN!

The dodgeballs for this game don’t have to be red, purple and green, they just have to be 3 different colours.

Scatter the dodgeballs all over the gym.

Tell the students that they can only have one dodgeball (either between their elbows, at their feet, or in a hand), at a time.

Red dodgeballs can only be grabbed/touched/picked up with elbows.

Purple dodgeballs can only be moved/kicked with feet.

Green dodgeballs can be picked up BY ONE HAND ONLY.

If a student moves a dodgeball other than in the way its colour is specified above, said student must freeze on the spot, spread their legs, and put their hands together in a point above their heads (they are now a human cone).

If a student is tagged by a red or purple dodgeball below the shoulders (these dodgeballs can be thrown with elbows, tagged with while being held by elbows,
or manipulated by feet), then said student turns into a human cone.

The only way to be saved is for someone to pick up a green dodgeball and roll it between your legs.

Green dodgeballs can only save.

If someone is tagged while holding a green dodgeball, they freeze on the spot, can take one shot with their green dodgeball to try and save someone else (not themselves!), and then must turn into a human cone and wait to be saved.

To add difficulty to this game, have the human cones do the plank or pushup position instead, and/or, have the kids use trickier body parts to move the balls.

This game pairs well with specific sports, where you’d like the kids to work on sports-specific skills while having fun.

The first two kids from each line run to the center, grab any 1 bean bag that they want, and start to build a tower on top of the overturned bin in the center of the room.

Once the two bean bags are stacked on top of one another, the kids run back to their lines and high-five the next person in line. The whole line then slides over, on their bums, so that the person who just went can attach themselves to the end of the line.

THE NEXT PERSON IN LINE CAN NOT STAND AND GO UNTIL THEY RECEIVE A HIGH-FIVE FROM THE PERSON ON THEIR TEAM THAT JUST WENT.

This game also works great with a giant dice, where one student is “Odd,” and one is “Even.”

Select 7 students to stand on a line at the end of the room closest to the door.

All other students line up at the other end of the room in two lines, with the bin of rings between them.

When the teacher says “Go,” the first two students in each line can take 1 ring and run to another line several feet in front of the first line.

Once at the this line, they try and throw the ring into the air and have one of the students on the lines catch it on their arm. The students can not use their
hands to catch it, but must try and slip their hand through the ring in the air so that it slides down their arm.

Each caught ring is worth 1 point.

Students waiting in line must be high-fived before they can leave to toss their ring.

See how many points the class can get in two minutes, and then put the total on the board.
